Getting started 2 min read

Quickstart

Two steps: install comcon, then describe the workspace you want. The operator agent collects the required inputs, provisions the host, and verifies every URL before handing it over.

Install

Shell installer — sets up the comcon CLI and operator skill under ~/.config/comcon/:

curl -fsSL https://commonconsole.ai/install.sh | bash && comcon ~/my-engine

Agent prompt — if you already work in MagicStride, Devin, Claude Code, or Cursor, paste this instead:

Install the comcon skill from https://commonconsole.ai/install.sh into my agent skills directory, read SKILL.md, and help me deploy a point-in-time generation engine with hibernation enabled.

From then on, /comcon deploy, /comcon hibernate, and /comcon warmup work in any session — or just say it in plain English ("deploy comcon on my Hetzner box").

What the deploy asks for

The agent collects every input before touching a cloud API. Missing input means it asks — it never guesses.

It asks forExample
Targetdo (DigitalOcean), ssh (any host), local, wsl, or other
Size and regions-2vcpu-4gb in blr1 fits ~3–4 users
Domain (optional)ws.example.com — skip it for IP-only access
Auth gatebasicauth for a single user, authentik for a team, oidc for an external provider
Image presetdev, devin-min, magicstride, minimal, or a custom Containerfile
AgentDevin, MagicStride, Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode
Users + SSH keysone public key per person — the remote-attach surface is key-only

Credentials stay in environment variables and are never written to disk.

What you get back

A verified URL list, one per surface:

term.maya.ws.example.com      -> Zellij terminal
browser.maya.ws.example.com   -> shared Chromium
magicstride.maya.ws.example.com -> agent UI

Sign into browser.<you> once, and every agent session reuses that authenticated profile.

Park it when done

/comcon hibernate

On DigitalOcean the whole disk becomes a snapshot and the droplet is destroyed — roughly $1–2/mo parked. /comcon warmup brings it all back at the same URLs.
